About The Event

Municipal Engineering featuring Melville Street Storm Sewer Micro-tunnelling Installation

Becoming an engineer at the City of Saskatoon, Vanessa encountered a steep learning curve for how complicated municipal engineering can be. To clarify the engineering is relatively straight forward it’s all the other aspects such as interaction with private property owners, managing resident’s expectations, working with other City departments, constructing around existing utilities and infrastructure, managing easements and numerous other unpredictable items that provides the complications!

In this presentation Vanessa will discuss some of these complications and how they have the capacity to significantly delay or derail (pun intended) in relation to a recent project of installation of a large diameter stormwater sewer extension under a rail line in the CN industrial area of the City.
