Biography

Dr. David Elwood is an Associate Professor at the University of Saskatchewan and recognized for his expertise in the field of geotechnical engineering, demonstrated by his role as the lead author of Chapter 5 Site Investigations in the 5th Edition Canadian Foundation Engineering Manual (CFEM). Dr. Elwood is actively engaged in the research community and has contributed numerous publications toward the understanding of landslide phenomena, in-situ testing techniques such as the pressuremeter, and the application of geophysical testing methods. As an active instructor at the University of Saskatchewan, Dr. Elwood is shaping the next generation of engineers with his extensive knowledge and expertise with a particular focus on the practical application of geotechnical principles to real-world engineering challenges. With nearly 25 years of consulting experience and his extensive knowledge of the latest techniques and standards in foundation engineering, Dr. Elwood is a valuable resource for engineering professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills in this area.
